Catamaranes del Sur invites you on a crossing that will give you an
insight to the true spirit of Chilean Patagonia. Sailing off from
Puerto Chacabuco you will border islands, channels and fjords, the
same ones that overwhelmed Charles Darwin and Fitz Roy during their
scientific adventure around the world, as well as lush age-old forests.
The view is even more awe-inspiring with the perpendicular glaciers
that flow down over the coast creating fugitive icebergs that drift
along Témpano River. A magnificent example is the San Valentin
Glacier, located in the San Rafael National Park, our final destination.
The traditional Loberías del Sur Hotel, located in Puerto Chacabuco,
harbours all the spirit of Chilean Patagonia, making your stay in
the area so much more comfortable. The hotel was built keeping in
mind the typical architecture of the region. It has 60 cozy rooms
with cable TV and central heating, a big restaurant that features
the finest seafood and Chilean wines, a bar, games room, sauna, gym,
etc. And last but not least, Aiken del Sur Natural Park, less than
15 minutes away from Loberías del Sur Hotel, was created with
the aim of complementing our services in the region. Developed with
both tourist and educational aims, it spans over 250 hectares and
boasts a variety of landscapes such as native forests, prairies, waterscapes
such as those on the shores of Lake Riesco, combining adventure, nature,
emotion as well as delicious regional cuisine. Special care was taken
in the preservation and conservation of the ecosystems that can be
found in it.

| DAY 1 BALMACEDA-
PUERTO CHACABUCO |
Reception
at Balmaceda airport and transfer to Hotel Loberías del Sur,
located in Puerto Chacabuco. To get there you have to cross part of
the austral route at the Aysén region, passing the beautiful
city of Coyhaique. During this tour you will enjoy a small sample
of the impressive landscape that is a part of "Cordillera de
los Andes" at the Chilean Patagonia.
Arrival at Hotel Loberías del Sur having the beautiful bay
of Puerto Chacabuco as scene. This is the hotel you will stay during
the two nights. Welcome Dinner, including appetizer, entry, second,
dessert and coffee. Overnight.

| DAY 2 PUERTO
CHACABUCO - LAGUNA SAN RAFAEL |
At 8:15
am you will be a part of an unforgettable voyage on board of the "Catamarán
Iceberg Expedition" with capacity for 70pax that will take you
across islands, channels and Patagonian fiords, until comes to the
Laguna San Rafael The quietude of its 170 kms, the floating floes
and the snowdrift with its constant and thunderous detaching of ices
of thousands of years are the principal attraction of the tour.
On board of the zodiacs you will meet moreover nearby to the snowdrift
San Rafael and the numerous floes that float around it. At the end
of the excursion you will enjoy a whisky with old-aged ice that date
back of more than 20 000 years. The anchorage will be among 2 to 3
hrs to begin the return to Puerto Chacabuco, place where you will
arrive around 9:30 pm. Transfer to our hotel and overnight. |
| DAY 3 PUERTO
CHACABUCO - AIKEN PARK |
| After breakfast,
we will drive through an outstanding beautiful road up to Aiken Park.
It is a half day guided tour visiting virgin forest, waterfall and
the banks of the placid transparent blue waters of Riesco Lake covering
an area of 14 square kilometres. After, you will enjoy a Patagonian
lamb barbecue in a typical "quincho" in this park. Afternoon
free to continuing visit to the park or return to the hotel. At night
farewell dinner and overnight at the hotel. |
